XLR8 CONTEST: ORGANIZING ONE-TO-ONE MEETINGS

The Countdown Begins for XLR8: The Innovation Talent Contest by Techinnova

The upcoming XLR8 contest, launched by Techinnova through the Innogrow accelerator, aims to spotlight the most promising talents in innovation. This unique call is organized as part of Smart City Now – Conference & Expo 2021, an event dedicated to smart city solutions, taking place digitally on June 15-16.

In the days leading up to the event, Techinnova's internal team will be conducting One-to-One meetings with each of the project teams that have applied and shown promise in the Smart Cities & Communities sector. A total of 22 projects were submitted, 10 of which are directly focused on Smart Cities. Notably:

  • 4 projects are centered on Sustainable Construction and Energy
  • 3 projects focus on Cybersecurity & IoT
  • 2 teams presented ideas for Sustainable Tourism
  • 1 team targeted Sustainable Mobility

All project proposals have been carefully evaluated based on specific KPIs:

  • Alignment with “Smart Cities” themes
  • Business idea quality
  • Development team strength
  • Project Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
  • Technical and economic feasibility
  • Project scalability
  • Alignment with S3 (Smart Specialisation Strategy) themes by the Lombardy Region
  • Potential for international impact
  • Business plan assessment
  • Pitch evaluation

The event will be held entirely online from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, following this schedule:

  • Introduction to Techinnova S.p.A. and Innogrow (15 minutes)
  • Presentation of two successful use cases: InfinityHub and Pradella Sistemi (15 minutes each)
  • Presentation of three companies selected for the acceleration programs (15 minutes each)
  • Closing remarks and final thoughts
